Mountain side hiking
Today I had a nostalgic experience when I hiked several towns near la concepcion town - Nicaragua trough mountains and valleys, in a tropical climate, and find I was covered with dust all over from shoes to shoulders- it brought up many tropical memories. ....Juste Gatari
You guys are having a great experience! I'm looking forward to the show when you return! Juste, I'm not sure if we can give you "credit" for experiencing a full Maine winter this year. We just had 5" of snow while you were hiking and wiping off the tropical dust. Beware of the Mapleleaf infiltrator. Safe travels and take lot's of photos...hmmm, construction detailing and architectural space, scale and light! -Rob
This hike was a wonderful experience. With Julio as our guide, we walked through orange groves, up to banana trees, further up to the side of Masaya volcano where only pineapple and pitana grow. All along we had spectacular views, an occassional visit with a local farmer, and yes, a police escort returning us home (news of being pestered by a drunk in the cemetary brough the town constable to make sure we weren't harassed. That's Nica life in La Concha!
